Spot ink

A blue spot ink has been used on this card along with a uv varnish. This uses a 2 colour palette which keeps printing costs to a minimum. It is printed on an uncoated stock which contrasts nicely to the glossy uv varnish.

UV varnish

This business card design is incredibly simple yet highly effective due to the use of the spot varnish; it literally hides the 'dden' leaving only the 'hi' characters visible in certain lights. Great use of the word.

Emboss

I love the way in which the embossing works with the information on the business card... it works as almost a method through which the information is being highlighted to give it more impact and be noticed before the rest of the information displayed within the card. This use of embossing makes the business cards highly functional in selecting the important information to portray. These cards would probably be produced on a moderate scale, however, due to the small size that is to be embossed the production costs would not be epic.

Laminate

These business cards have been printed on specially made triple laminated stock as a physical representation of their uniqueness. The bright colours used on the business cards attract attention.

Duplex

These business cards have been printed on Colorplan Ebony and Pristine White duplexed. It uses a one colour litho print on each side retaining a minimalistic appearance. There is white foil blocking aganist the black uncoated stock looks magical and the front type is foil blocked black.
