GF Smith Paper Samples

As GF Smith are direct competition for Fedrigoni I ordered their Colorplan sample as I felt it was the equivalent of the Imaginative Colours tool. I am interested to see how they send their samples and how the samples are presented.

Well, this is a lot smarter and has a much stronger design element apparent in comparison to Fedrigoni's samples sent to us. The simple fact that it has used traditional print methods upon their samples makes you (as a designer) excited about the papers and begin to consider how you could use them within your work. This is exactly what Fedrigoni are trying to achieve, so I think we need to consider using these types of print methods within our end product. Also, it is evident that a skilled designer has designed these with detail to the type and layout; this makes you appreciate the papers more as you then feel they are respected and used by other designers. A lot to consider here and a lot that we have learnt we need to apply to our designs.
